I do not think I know many people who think there is nothing wrong with them. Not many of us treat the Self with love, compassion, humor and appreciation.
Many of us have been raised in cultures impacted by religious belief that there is something inherently evil in our nature and our human life is to be devoted to try to be good. If I could, I would charge the promoters of this idea alone with the crime against humanity. It has been pushed down collective consciousness for centuries and created unhappy, self-despising humans who pass down generation after generation this toxic idea.
Luckily, in a recent century we have been awakening to the impact such mindset has on us and shedding it. In this regard, my job is to help my clients see themselves with eyes of great love, adoration and compassion. It takes time and a certain process to train the mind to do it, but it is very much worth the investment.
Tantra teaches and prepares us to become a Loving Witness to our own Nature, seeing her as divine absolute. Yes, your feelings, reactions and inclinations need only loving eyes for optimal growth and self-regulation. Loving eyes are not blind. They are still eyes that see :)) but besides giving us the mirror we need for that self-regulation, they also must be kindly looking so that our psyche can bear what it sees in the Mirror. As I said, Nature is nature and what we see in the mirror as our reflection is not always what we love to see.
Possibly, each one of us has behaviors we wish to change. It can be tricky to discern when it comes from a beautiful desire for self-improvement vs. never ending dissatisfaction with the self. I promise you - it does become clear as you watch yourself and listen deeply.
Developing our ability to see ourselves in a continuous clear way allows the Mind to go way deeper into the Body than is customary in our society. This is a very good thing!! Because to be honest with you, dear soul, our society is very body-phobic and teaches us, from an early age, to abandon the body and dissociate from awareness of our sensations and emotions as these are deemed not important or trustworthy.
In my work I put a strong focus on guiding the Mind to dwell in the Body with heart-felt presence.
Just imagine what it's like to wake up in the morning taking your time to feel yourself back from sleep. Slowly. Gently.
To feel an intimate bond with your sensual body. To be touched deeply by life and hear your authentic Voice - your own unique way to perceive, appreciate things and contribute as a conscious creator.
Let’s keep learning to live in sensory intimacy.
